Donald Stangler, MD, is a board-certified physician who brings his patients more than 25 years of experience practicing Internal Medicine in the United States and Europe as well as a unique understanding of health-care practices.

 

Dr. Stangler’s internal-medicine practice in Fairfield County serves the needs of individual patients and provides corporate-physician consulting services. In that capacity, he provided consulting services to IBM and served as Director of the Stamford Corporate Health Services, an affiliate of Stamford Hospital that provided dedicated corporate and occupational healthcare client needs.

 

Educated and trained in the United States, Dr. Stangler spent 10 years at the American Hospital of Paris, where he developed a successful hospital-based internal medicine practice and served as director of their Emergency Department. His patient base at that time included American and French patients as well as business and government leaders from Europe, the Middle East and Africa. During that period, Dr. Stangler also served as the liaison between the American Hospital of Paris and New York Presbyterian Hospital.

 

Since his return to the United States, Dr. Stangler also has worked with a large, national managed-care company as a Senior Medical Director overseeing Quality Care, Disease Management and Utilization Management departments as well as ownership of a best practices program, which he developed to embrace performance improvement and encourage quality practice from network providers.

Dr Stangler is a graduate of Hamilton College and Albany Medical College. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and two years of subspecialty training at Boston City Hospital and was a member of the Boston City Hospital faculty as Director of their Ambulatory Out-Patient Clinic.
